Session A Workshops
Friday, June 18 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.

A1 Presidents—Sue Fitzgerald
All association and local presidents are welcome to attend this workshop. If your president is unable to attend, a representative from your church or association is welcome. We will be sharing ideas for better programming and for reaching more of our women. Please bring at least one idea to share that has worked well for your group.

A2 Personal Development Ministries—Wynetta Dukes
Women of compassion mirror Christ's love as they serve others. Come and explore ways to walk in the footprints of Jesus and leave your indelible marks in time.

A3 Church and Community Ministries—Gayle Campbell
What does it mean to us, as women, to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world? Join us as we study what it means to answer God’s commands to serve, focusing on Isaiah 6 and Matthew 9. We’ll take a look at the initiatives National Ministries is focusing on and share ideas we’ve tried or heard about.

A4 Mission and Service
Are you looking for updates and information on Mission and Service? Come to find information about what we can do for missions. Please be prepared to share ideas and mission activities that you have found to be successful.

A5 White Cross and World Relief—Beth Arment and Chris Marziale
If you are a White Cross Coordinator for your church or association, this is the workshop for you! If you simply enjoy doing hands-on work for missions, or if you’d like to know more about this important ministry, this is the workshop for you, too! Bring your questions; learn what’s new with White Cross, and receive the new White Cross promotional materials. Chris Marziale of International Ministries will share with us how White Cross is a blessing to those who receive these gifts.

A6 Ethel Wheeler Enrichment (E.W.E.) - Rieta Boyden
Plan to attend the E.W.E. Workshop as we explore ways to experience the presence of God in our lives and understand what He has destined for your life. Bring with you your own unique ideas and share ways to build closer relationships with other women in a retreat setting.

A7 Studen Loan—Karol Clement
ABC123, Not sure what the Student Loan program is all about? Come to this workshop and find out! This workshop is not only for those who are responsible for the student loan program on a church or association level, but also for anyone interested in the program—whether for their church members, their family, or themselves! We will cover our policies and procedures, how to apply, and who is eligible to apply. Bring your questions.

A8 Reclaiming That Absent Generation of Young Adults in Your Church— Rev. Don Girdwood, ABCOPAD Area Minister
The exodus from the church by younger adults is a long time concern, and certainly not a passing trend the church can afford to ignore. Participants will consider twenty and thirty-somethings who are outside the reach of today’s church, the factors that created this gulf, and the bridges that may be built. This workshop will explore examples of the churches that are connecting with emerging generations without compromising the truth.

A9 Worship Leading in the Traditional Church— Rev. Richard McIntyre, ABCOPAD Area Minister
When we think of the term “worship leader,” we usually think of the lead singer in a praise band in a contemporary or emerging church. But traditional churches need worship leaders, too … and that role shouldn’t fall on the pastor. This workshop will prepare you to lead worship in your church by: discussing a simple theology of laity involvement in worship; equipping you with an understanding of the four-fold flow of worship; providing basic guidelines for preparing and leading the individual acts of traditional worship, such as the call to worship and invocation; and proving that announcements are the work of Satan (I’m only half joking about that).

A10 White Cross Bandage Rolling
The bandage rolling work room will be open throughout the weekend, but if you prefer to work with a larger group or have never rolled bandages before and need to learn the basics, sign up for the bandage rolling workshop room during one of the three workshop sessions and be a part of this important ministry!
