C6 Spiritual Check-up—Dawn Grager
We go to the doctor on a regular basis for a physical health check-up, but what about our spiritual health? Making sure our spiritual life is healthy is just as, if not more, important as our physical health. When was your last check-up? If it’s been a while, take the time now to make an appointment and see what the Great Physician has in store for you!

Even non-music readers can ring these bells and make beautiful harmony! Here is an idea to enhance your ministry with all ages!

C8 A Forever Family—Adoption and Orphan Care Ministry—Megan Miller
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress” - James 1:27 (NRSV) This workshop will discuss the plight of orphans around the world and in the United States today. It will provide practical ways for you as a woman in Christ to be a part of God’s solution to the orphan crisis. Pastor Megan Miller, the facilitator of this workshop, is an adoptive parent who has been personally touched through her adoption experience. She will share her story as well as discuss initial steps individuals and churches can take to be a part of an adoption and orphan care ministry. If you want to learn more about adoption or just want to know a simply way in which you can help to make a forever family a reality to the over 143 million orphans in the world today, this is the workshop for you. Come discover how you can be God’s hands and feet to the many children who need our help.

C9 Human Trafficking—Bought, Used, Abused, and Sold— Virginia Holmstrom, Executive Director, AB Women’s Ministries
The buying and selling of human beings happens every day, and it happens closer to home than you may think. Come and learn about the issue, the response of American Baptists and others, and the continuing outreach of the Break the Chains national mission project. Come with a curiosity and a commitment to live out AB Women’s Ministries 2010-11 mission study theme: “Human Trafficking: Redeemed, Freed, Loved, and Restored.”
