2010 Spring Board Meeting
Region Mission Project Goal-$21,000, “Forging Links of Support for our Missionary Families.” (6 missionary families to Mexico and the Binkleys (Thailand & US). Each of these families is now responsible for raising most of their own support. Hopefully, your church has been in contact with your “adopted” missionary, encouraging them in their ministry. Funds can be sent to Anna Lee Earnest, our ABWM region treasurer or sent directly to International Ministries, targeted for one of these families. Please let Anna Lee know of any funds that you have sent to IM or through ABCOPAD so your gifts can be counted toward our goal.
It’s been great to hear that many of you have been collecting items for Baby and Hygiene Kits in response to the urgent request from Church World Service for Haiti. Thanks for your generous gifts. I was able to drop off our church’s gifts at the Harrisburg Colonial Park UCC. Mission Encounter Tour to Illinois, September 18-26, 2010. You will visit Peoria Friendship House and see their Matthew 24 Jewelry Cooperative. They are a multi-year Break the Chains recipient. Cost is approximately $1200. Should you prefer to travel abroad---Mission Encounter to Africa is coming April 21-May 6, 2011. Participants will travel to Durban, So. Africa and to the Democratic Republic of the CONGO. Tentative cost is $4500. **Coming to 2010 Conference** New info not included in your conference registration booklet~ We will have not just one of our missionaries from Mexico, but two. Both Adalia Schellinger and Patti Long will be there. Patti is the wife of Tim Long. She will be speaking at the Missions & Service Workshop on Friday afternoon Both these ladies will be hosting our Friday evening Missions Tour.
