2010 Spring Board Meeting Report

Spring is around the corner! Praise God for His faithfulness. After displaying His beauty, sovereignty and might with the snowstorms, I am grateful for the onset of a new season in nature and ministry. I hope as the signs of Spring appear and as we celebrate the passion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, you will feel the refreshing rebirth of joy, pease and love of God in your hearts.

The Spritual Disciplines were the theme of the information I have shared in the Communicator and with the Personal Development Coordinators of Pa / De. The Communicator article showed how the "Disciplines" may assist one in winning the internal war of living by the Sprit and living by the flesh. The two lessons I developed and sent are entitled, Bullseye Prayer and Silence & Solitude. Bullseye Prayer was on praying specifically and the importance of scripture in prayer. I Samuel 1-2:10 and James 5:16b were the guiding texts with Hannah and Elijah as our examples. The lesson on Silence & Solitude was to assist our sisteres with taking personal mini-retreats from the cacophony of noise and activity of life. The lesson was based on Jesus' call to each of us to "Come away by yourselves to a lonely place" Mark 6:31 to be restored at anytime. Other supporting texts were I Kings 19:1-8 and Luke 10:38 - 42. Elijah and Mary, Martha and Lazarus' sister, were the characters used to elucidate the principles of Silence & Solitude.

Other activities included sending information to PBA churches about supporting the Shawvers and the Regional Annual Project. As Personal Development Coordinator, I have shared at two PBA churches Women's Day Services, a Women of Faith Luncheon, an ABWM Breakfast and an installation service. Many churches responded to the call for Baby Kits and Health Kits for Haiti. All PA / DE Associations have been asked to submit ideas for the mini skit for Conference and to organize and chair the presentation. PBA churches appear to be transitioning from ourning to celebrating the life of Elijah Crumity. Our first installation of ABWM-PBA officers will be April 24th.

This year we have learned that life's setbacks are God's opportunities for our comebacks! Truly, God is good all the time!
