AB Women's Ministries of
Pennsylvania and Delaware


The American Baptist Women’s Ministries of Pennsylvania and Delaware are affiliated with and promote the programs of the American Baptist Women’s Ministries of the American Baptist Churches, U.S.A. (ABCUSA), and the American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware (ABCOPAD). They also cooperate with the region of the Philadelphia Baptist Association.

Mission Statement:
In commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to the mission of the Church and through the enabling of the Holy Spirit, American Baptist Women’s Ministries of Pennsylvania and Delaware provides opportunities for each woman and girl to:
  • Become and develop as God’s person,
  • Build God’s faith community, and
  • Serve God’s world.

Invitation to Participate:
All women are invited to participate in American Baptist Women’s Ministries of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Each woman is encouraged to participate according to her own needs, interests and gifts as led by the Spirit of God.


The Board consists of all elected officers, the immediate Past President for one year, and all association presidents of American Baptist Women’s Ministries within Pennsylvania and Delaware. One third of its membership shall constitute a quorum.

All past Presidents of American Baptist Women (or ABW Ministries) of Pennsylvania and Delaware, and any woman from Pennsylvania or Delaware, who is serving on the national Board of American Baptist Ministries, are honorary members of the Board.

The Board:
  • Develops the goals and policies of the Organization consistent with the mission statement of American Baptist Women’s Ministries and purposes of American Baptist Churches, U.S.A.
  • Transacts all official business between meetings of this Organization and shall plan for the necessary financing of the Organization.
  • Ratifies the filling of vacancies of elected offices, between meetings of this Organization, by the Executive Committee upon recommendation of the Nominating Committee.

The officers of American Baptist Women’s Ministries of Pennsylvania and Delaware are: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Coordinator of Personal Development Ministries, Coordinator of Church and Community Ministries, Coordinator of Mission and Service Ministries, Coordinator of Conference, Coordinator of AB GIRLS, Coordinator of Student Loan, Coordinator of White Cross/World Relief, and Coordinator of Love Gift. The Coordinator of Ethel Wheeler Enrichment Program and the Communicator Editor are appointed positions.

Elections:
The officers of American Baptist Women’s Ministries of Pennsylvania and Delaware are elected at its annual meeting, upon nomination by the Nominating Committee.

In one year, the officers to be elected are:
  • President,
  • Coordinator of Personal Development Ministries,
  • Coordinator of White Cross/World Relief, and
  • Coordinator of Student Loan.
In the next year, the officers to be elected are:
  • Secretary,
  • Coordinator of Church and Community Ministries,
  • Coordinator of Love Gift, and
  • Coordinator of AB GIRLS.
In the following year, the officers to be elected are:
  • Treasurer,
  • Coordinator of Mission and Service Ministries, and
  • Coordinator of Conference.
The term of office is three years, and shall begin and terminate at the close of the annual Conference. An officer shall not hold the same office for more than one term, with the exception of the Treasurer and Coordinator of Student Loan, who may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms each. If a woman has filled an unexpired term, she may accept a full term of her own for that same office.
